Girls Camp! :] (In Lists & Pictures)

Girls Camp 2012
Wed. June 27 - Sat. June 31
YCLs: Christine, Addy, Sam, and Brooke
Cabin #: 18, Black Bears
People I knew in my cabin: Carmany & Connie
Best Part: Crafts, free time, and testimony meeting
100th Anniversary Challenge: It was the 100th anniversary of Grils Camp, so each cabin got a challenge. Ours was 'Write 100 love notes.' We each had to write 6, and our cabin finished the first day!
Theme: Arise and Shine Forth: Be Stellar!

Wednesday: Make camp journals at Stake Center, Find out cabin numbers, Leave, Arrive, Find cabins, Unpack, Lunch, Free time ( crafts, explore, and hang out in cabin ), Dinner, T-shirt hand out, 100 Challenges, Skits, Desert, Cabin devotional, SUPPOSEDLY lights out ( but some girls in my cabin wanted to stay up late and tell stories, keeping the rest of us up too! :[ )
Exploring the swimming pool I never knew they had!
Swinging on a rope swing! :]
 My name tag and bunk.
The inside decorations of our cabin.
Our cabin ( ours was at the very end of the camp )
View at the beginning of the skits before it got dark and cold.

Mailbox and location! ( This was the same exact camp I went to for sixth grade science camp, and everything looked really familiar! )

Thursday: Arise ( We locked the door the night before and no one was awake in the morning to unlock it so the Lites weren't able to sing their annoying wake up song with the MEGAPHONE ), Breakfast, Scripture study, Certification rotations, Lunch, More rotations, Make lip gloss, Free time (crafts, love notes, archery, and Uno in our cabin ), Dinner, Stake presidency rotations, CUPCAKES (that was one of my favorite parts ;] ), Campfire songs, Lights out! ( I had a plan that night so that I wouldn't stay up late and I would get a good sleep AND IT WORKED. I fell asleep before they turned off the lights! )
Archery Range!
I really wanted to have a Katniss/Merida/Hawkeye moment but out of the 6 arrows I shot, 4 missed :[ I was really, really bad lol.

Friday: ( Definitely the day I was looking forward too, and it lived up to my expectations! :] ) Arise ( We didn't lock our door that night because the Lites told us not to and they woke us up with their song through a MEGAPHONE which was unnecessary. We also heard later their was a bear in the camp that night and we didn't lock our door because the Lites told us not to ), Breakfats, Ward Bishop time, HIKES! ( Each different age group had different qualifications, and the Beehives was a 25 minute walk to the lake to canoe! It was my first time and it was uber fun! The Miamaids had like a 4 mile walk to a stream haha. ), Free time ( rock wall, crafts ( wire ring, altoid tins, head bands/bracelets ), swimming, mini shower ), dinner, Testimony meeting, Snack, Cabin devotional, Lights out! ( We actually ended up  staying up a hour later than lights out teaching a non-member about the Gospel, which was cool. :] )
Rock wall, which was actually realllllly high.
Literally crossing a river ( stream ) on a fallen tree. ( Those are my friend's feet )
The canoes and the lake!
This used to be an Altoid tin, I until I went all mad-skilled-crafter on it and made it into this; a polka dot backed whale with an H. Mhmmmm ;]
The canoe and me!

RANDOM NOTES:
• If you read the scriptures, good things will happen.
Exhibit A: One of our YCLs opened her scriptures for a devotional and found money.
Exhibit B: My friend who rarely reads the scriptures read a couple chapters one day and found the chapstick she lost and desperately needed in her pocket which she turned inside out before while she was looking for it.
Exhibit C: My other friend also read them quite diligently and then found $6 while we were walking through camp ( she returned it, of course )
MORAL OF THE STORY: Read your scriptures!
• On Friday night, there was a bug thing in our cabin and someone actually broke our light trying to ill it. But luckily one of our awesome leaders was able to fix it! :]

Ciao for now! :]

*May be posting more pictures from different sources as I receive them*
*This post may be updated as time goes on and more pictures are received!* :]
